Interview with... Jamie Alcroft

I hope you guys are enjoying all the Star Wars-related interviews I'm dissing out for you.
This time I'm interviewing Jamie Alcroft.

Jamie is a comedian who has worked on a slew of Star Wars video games.
I hope you enjoy what Jamie has to say...

1. You have your visual comedians, and your vocal comedians. Which type of comedian would you describe yourself to be?

TO MY WAY OF THINKING, A GOOD COMEDIAN IS BOTH VISUAL AND VERBAL. ONE OF THE FUNDAMENTALS OF ACTING IS THAT ACTION PRECEDES AND MOTIVATES ANYTHING VERBAL. COMEDIANS ARE SOME OF THE BEST ACTORS BECAUSE THEY NIGHTLY CONVINCE AUDIENCES THAT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THEY HAVE EVER SAID WHAT THEY ARE SAYING ON STAGE. FOLLOWING A JOKE WITH A PHYSICALITY IS A TRIED AND TRUE WAY OF MILKING A JOKE FOR MULTIPLE LAUGHS AFTER THE AUDIENCE HAS UNDERSTOOD THE JOKE.

2. How long have you worked on your act to become the professional you are today?

30 YEARS BUT I WAS A PROFESSIONAL ALL ALONG JUST AT DIFFERENT STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT AND PERFECTION.

3. Being a movie review blog I need to ask, how long before we see your comedic stills up on the big screen?

MACK AND I WERE CAST IN A MOVIE IN 1986, "MILLION DOLLAR MYSTERY". WE WERE NOMINATED FOR A RAZZIE AWARD (FORMER NOMINEES INCLUDE: STEVE MARTIN, HALLIE BARRIE, JOHN TRAVOLTA AND SANDRA BULLOCK) AND WE WERE ARGUABLY THE FUNNIEST CHARACTERS IN THE MOVIE. MY JOKE ABOUT IT IS "THE MOVIE WAS SO BAD THAT WHEN THE CAST WAS FLYING TO NEW YORK FOR THE PREMIERE, THEY WERE SHOWING IT ON THE PLANE!"

4. What advice can you give to wannabe comedians?

FIND A POINT OF VIEW, FIND A STAGE AND GET ON IT.

5. How did you land the gig on a Star Wars video game?

I AUDITIONED

6. Have you ever been to a Star Wars convention?

NO, BUT WOULD LOVE TO. IN WHICH GALAXY ARE THEY HELD?

If you have a production/event/charity you would like to bring to my attention please let me know and I’ll make mention of it in my blog.

YES, I'M OPENING A COMEDY SHOWROOM IN THOUSAND OAKS, CALIFORNIA. HEADLINER COMEDY, EVERY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY!

Okay, so maybe there weren't THAT many Star Wars questions, but hey, I had a good time interviewing Jamie.
I thought he was a great sport for allowing me this opportunity.
Keep in touch if/when you can, okay Jamie?
